Children of the Comet – Prologue

During earth’s primeval era, there existed a powerful and prosperous civilization known as Nidotopia. But then a great evil arose and a terrible war erupted that threw the world into chaos. An army of
brutish beast-like demons known as daevas led by a powerful queen charged over the land setting their sights upon the destruction of humanity and all of life. Though powerful and skilled as the
Nidotopians were, they were greatly outmatched by the overwhelming might of the daevas and their queen. When Earth was on the brink of total annihilation, when all seemed truly lost, fate dealt its hand against the daevas. A powerful comet passed by earth’s orbit, endowing the remnant of the Nidotopians with unimaginable strength and power. The newly powered warriors led a final charge against the daevas, decimating their forces in a single sweep. All that stood between the Nidotopians and total victory was the queen herself. After a long and devastating bout, the warriors managed to overpower and defeat her, destroying her terrestrial body and banishing her spiritual essence to
the outer darkness of the astral plane where she remains bound in chains to this very day. The Nidotopians’ victory came at a terrible cost. The war had ravaged their entire civilization.

After the war, earth made a slow but sure recovery. The modern world never knew of that terrible time, nor of the sacrifices, made to preserve our existence. Today, we just go about our lives grazing like sheep, totally oblivious to the evil that looms on the horizon. Over the centuries, the chains binding the Queen have weakened, and as they continue to do so, her influence on the physical world grows stronger and stronger. She is full of wrath and impatiently anticipates the day
of her release. My dreams are darkening, my fears continue to suffocate me, as I contemplate the devastation that will be unleashed in the hour of her revelation. Dear God, please, we need a miracle.

I love your prologue! You are a very talented writer! Is this in the sci-fi genre ( I believe all if not most sci-fi is not fictitious) because I’m just starting to get into sci-fi and this blog is a great starting point for me. I’m looking forward to reading more and If I were you I would get my writings copyrighted in case some troll wanna copy.
